Cultures near and far are intertwined at Tenuta Mazzolino, whose name means "meeting point, stop" (Latin: Mansiolinum). The vine has been growing here for three thousand years. Modern technology has now been added to ancient traditions, but the wines of Tenuta Mazzolino that delight the palates of highly esteemed experts and enthusiasts are not simply the set of correct chemical and analytical parameters or quality. Of the grapes and the consequent processing, the essence nourishes the roots of the vineyards of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Bonarda, and Cabernet Sauvignon. This essence comes from the deep passion of the Braggiotti family, who has been cultivating these lands since 1980.In those years, dr. Enrico Braggiotti was looking for a meeting place for his family of 5 to enjoy the company of 4 children and 12 grandchildren. His conviction is: love for good drinking is the foundation that unites, unites, and is handed down to his family. He wanted a campaign to sink the Italian roots of a lineage born partly in Turkey and partly in France, a land in which to sow the seed and grow a passion matured over the years: that of wine. And it is precisely the hill of Corvino, on the road trodden by the ancient Romans with a vast horizon from the Alps to the Apennines and an extraordinary view over the province of Pavia, the ideal place to achieve these goals. Each family finds a home in the village dating back to the early 1800s, consisting of a nucleus of 5 buildings, a guesthouse, and a small church surrounded by fields and vineyards.Sandra Braggiotti, the daughter, realized her dream with great enthusiasm and the right entrepreneurial attitude, embarked on a journey that brought to life a new important chapter in this Estate. With these foundations and respect for the character that Marquis Alfonso Corti had given to this place, Sandra set to rebuild the company. Over the years, the estate had been almost totally replanted, reaching the current 22 hectares of vineyards. At the same time, the original winemaking nucleus was also joined by the new thousand-square-meter cellar designed by the architect Lorenzo Berni who, with great skill, managed to combine the two realities.Corvino San Quirico has become a small fantasy world: excellent wine, orchards, chickens, horses, rose gardens, and generous countryside that release life and beauty. The top-quality products that grow here are only a natural consequence of being appreciated and recognized by the new owners."Exciting confirmations," "new air," "elegance and personality" are attributes chosen by oenologists and critics to describe the wines. Still, they equally well define the spirit of the place and of those who live there.Along the 45th parallel, the 22 hectares of Mazzolino become the cradle of a culture that fully enhances the character of the area, once part of Ancient Piedmont. The intuition of dr. Enrico Braggiotti, who laid the foundations for Mazzolino's successes, was also confirmed Giacomo Bologna, a timeless legend and great lord of wines."You must vinify it in red" was his suggestion; in this region where the pinot noir was vinified almost exclusively in white, it was a great challenge. To start this new adventure, Giacomo Bologna recommended the Piedmontese oenologist Giancarlo Scaglione to the Braggiotti family, who took care of it in this first phase."Burgundy is also in Corvino," the Province of Pavia writes in an article at the end of the 1980s and, it is no coincidence.Kyriakos Kynigopoulos, internationally renowned oenologist and a great expert in Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, is called directly from Bourgogne to Corvino San Quirico to combine his talent with land with clear potential.Under the direction of the great winemaker and flanked by a talented team, a great Pinot Noir, the “Noir,” and a Chardonnay of the highest level, the “Blanc” is born.Almost thirty years have passed since that historic meeting. Today the Noir has earned a place in the most refined wineries and wine bars in the world, awards at international competitions, excellent evaluations and mentions in the most authoritative guides, up to obtaining the prestigious goal of " three glasses "for the Guide" Vini d 'Italia 2009 ", success also replicated with the subsequent editions of 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013.
