In 1900, Cascina Garitina was founded by the Morino Family.
The name is a homage to the grandmother Margherita, friendly called Margheritina, which in the local dialect becomes Garitina. The focus of the winery is the valorization of Barbera and in particular of the Nizza DOC. The vineyards extend for 26 hectares and are located in the heart of Monferrato Area in Piedmont, in the commons of castle Boglione (the historical site), Nizza Monferrato and Castelnuovo Calcea. The varietals grown in the winery are Barbera, Brachetto, Dolcetto, Pinot Nero, Merlot e Cabernet Sauvignon.
