Il Rosso di Montalcino ARMILLA is coming from a vineyard partially planted in 1998 and partially in 2001. Surface: 1 hectare. The soil is predominantly calcareous with tufa. The vines have an average age of 12 years. The fermentation and maceration in steel tanks takes about three weeks. Afterwards the wine spends eighteen months in oak barrels of 25 HL. Despite being a pure Sangiovese, this wine combines the longevity of the vine to its ready-to-drink style due to the cultivation of this noble grape variety on a ground which gives a looser, more soft and silky tannins. The fruity palate, full of red berries, makes it ideal for young consumption
Ruby red color with garnet reflections
Aroma of red fruits, hints of tobacco
Smooth and elegant.
Beautiful wine, perfect when paired with italian food, especially tomato based dishes, and attractive when enjoyed by itself
