The Domaine Guy Farge vineyard now has 22 hectares of vines rarely exposed to drought. The slopes are made of granite, so the soils are very filtering: the cultivation is done on terraces, supported by dry stone walls. As the estate is made up of steep and sloping terraced plots, the work of the vines is exclusively manual, from pruning to harvest. Challenging and trying, you have to arm yourself with courage and patience to take care of each vine planted on the 22 hectares (around 6,000 vines/ha) before being rewarded with the quality of the terroir wines!Out of constant concern for work that respects the environment, the reasoned farming methods adopted (minimal use of treatment products) have naturally given the horseback, which passes through the rows of vines on specific plots to turn the soil over and thus weed aerate the soil.Respect for fruits picked at maturity justifies the installation of unloading trailers at the mid-level of the fermentation tanks (gravity work) and the use of a pneumatic press. For quality wines, more or less fruity, tannic and structured, aging is done in oak barrels of 3 400-liter wines, between 6 and 14 months depending on the vintage.
