Mâcon Rouge is a Appellations Régionales wine. A non-sparkling red wine made from the Pinot Noir or Gamay varietals. The Pinot Noir grapes used for this wine are sourced partially from the southernmost part of Burgundy, in the Mâconnais and partially from Côte d’Or (Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits - arguably, the best places in Burgundy!). The vineyards are located along the foot of the wine-growing slopes on limestone soils mixed with some clays and marls.
